Two of the Quartetto Gelato members, oboist Colin Maier and accordionist/pianist Charles Cozens, have teamed up and over the past couple of years to create “JoyRide”. It’s exactly what it sounds like: Colin (oboist, multi-instrumentalist, acrobat, actor & stuntman) and Charles (accordion piano, arranger/conductor who’s worked with Randy Bachman, David Foster, Manhattan Transfer and many more) deliver a fun show which veers into the “crossover jazz” category. They are both incredibly versatile:  improvising and composing on the spot, kibitzing, all the while performing repertoire based in Latin jazz, pop jazz, ragtime and bebop, as well as Celtic, folk and tango.
